As a part of a normal governance and continuous improvement process, the Marine Estate Management Authority (MEMA) in NSW required expertise in the second half of 2022 to diagnose any implementation challenges (and opportunities for improvement) to inform the development of an implementation improvement plan for Stage 3 of the Marine Estate Management Strategy (MEMS).
Science into Action assisted Aither and project partners Change Synergy to deliver this important program review project.

What we did
Supported Aither senior experts to design and deliver an engagement and insight approach with senior MEMA representatives – both of the Authority, and the supporting agencies across the NSW Government.
Interviewed various governance representatives at levels from Chair to Team Leader and worked with Aither and Change Synergy to diagnose improvements.
Supported the team to prepare multiple steering group, Exec and Board level status presentations and reports (both during the process, and the final outputs)
The Result
While the outputs from the actual project remain confidential with the client, the MEMA continues with a strong mandate from Government to implement the full Stage 3 MEMS. For more information about the MEMS visit the NSW website.
