Meeting the FOGO Mandate – where to collaborate?

We were approached by the team at the North Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (NSROC) to assist them with a building a shared understanding for members Councils of how the councils of the region could collaborate to meet the NSW FOGO mandate in the timelines available. Building on strong NSROC work, this session was a chance for Executive and sustainability and waste leadership to jointly discuss options and areas of possible collaboration.

What we did

  • Created and delivered an in-person workshop that operated under the Chatham House rules to enable council leaders to understand each other’s organics management approaches and challenges, explore specific areas for collaboration, and provide NSROC direction from member councils on how best to support them with  organics management.

  • Reported back on the process, collated outputs, and headline outcomes as well as some clear recommendations from the workshop.

The Result

A set of clear possible collaborations and definite decisions emerged from the workshop. As it was a workshop run under the Chatham House rules, outputs and outcomes remain confidential to the participants.
